So I picked up a shift today at the theater and you won't even frelling believe what happened. Our theater is part of an indoor mall and Radio Shack happens to be right next door. I'm standing at the ticket taking box and watched as some dude in a bright yellow t-shirt hauled ass through our lobby, chased by a clerk from Radio Shack. That was pretty amusing cause I was really betting on the RS dude tackling the idiot theif. The theif got away, but dropped his cell phone. The RS clerk walked up with the theif's cellphone and just laughed cause even if the guy got away, they still had him by the balls.

The hilariously stupid part came about three minutes later when the theif came trudging back in through our lobby and out into the mall, coming to a full stop in front of Radio Shack. Seriously, he stood out there, holding stolen merchandise and demanded the clerk give back his cellphone. So, yeah he was totally arrested.

And that is my proof that people are seriously stupid. Have good times!

Whoo! I can't believe half of August is gone already or that I haven't posted since June. That's so weird.

Life has been weird lately. It sucks a little less than the last time I posted. A sort of tenuous balance has settled over my workplace and that's a good thing. Tru's come back and now I don't feel like the dark cloud rockin' the boat. I'm glad she's there. She's a reassuring presence.

I'm all set and ready to go for my sister's Alice and Wonderland photoshoot. I'm playing one of the Mad Hatters. I'm the chick and my sister asked a bud to play the traditional guy Mad Hatter. She's accumulated quite the cast. She found a White & Red Queen, a Cheshire Cat, Tweedle Dum and Dee, a Dormouse, a March Hare, a White Rabbit and ofcourse an Alice. I think they only character we're missing is the caterpillar. The guy she found to play it couldn't get a costume together in time. Oh well, it's still going to be so much fun.

Getting ready for her photoshoot is getting me in the mood for Halloween. I'm on the hunt for a kick ass outfit!

I watch them and look for any redeeming qualities. I don't just write people off for being annoying--I worked in retail for crying out loud. I'd have to write everyone off if I did--myself included. But you know, I've never met anyone that made me want to vacate the premisis or poke them with something very sharp and pointy.

That happened this past Sunday. I was the designated driver--just in case there was any hard drinkin' for a night at the volunteer fireman's ball. Total bust, btw. Live music was good, the fact that everyone there was over 50 was not so good, and then there was the slide show of horrible accidents flashing just above the dance floor--down right mood kill.

It was a good thing we had dinner first, because that was fun, but now my me and sis and her friends Kate and Haley were waiting on our fifth guest who I will call, Innocent. We sat by the door so we could stop her from paying to get in--'cause the plan was to go do something else far, far away.

We noticed a crush of people waiting in the alcove to pay to get inside the hall. A tall guy, with brown hair and eyes wearing sandals [0_o;wtf?] of all things on a windy and rainy night. He stood to the back with a pair of dancing shoes dangling in his hand. Whatever, the slide show was weird, what could possibly be worse? And then my sis' friend came in and got in line. Mister Dancin' Shoes got right up behind her. >0<; Ew...

We all got up to meet Innocent when Mr. Dancin' Shoes hugs my sis. We all stop dead in our tracks and eyeball him. Apparently, Innocent brought her boyfriend whom she broke up with on Facebook... Wish she had a cell phone, 'cause these are the moments where being prepared really counts.

I guess he looked like he wanted to hug Haley too--sucks being the cute one--but she ducked behind my super bitch shield--oh, yes it exists and it works very well.

We stood there while Flash--my sis--explained to Innocent why we were leaving this oh, so dull party and somehow, we ended up deciding on going to a nearby restaurant for desert and coffee. Truth be told, one look at Mr. Dancin' Shoes and I was ready to end the night. I didn't really want to be in the same restaurant much less the same table, but that wasn't the way that worked.

The four of us got to the restaurant first and found ourselves seated next to the only other table being used. I guess it was a super slow night if we were the only other guests. Innocent and Mister Dancin' Shoes got there last.

We were all sitting at a round table. I got to sit across from Mister Weirdy so I got a good look at him. Kate sat next to me, then Haley, then Mr. Creepy McDancin' Shoes and Miss Innocent and then my sis, Flash.

The man sure could stir up a whole batch of uncomfortableness and instant dislike. From the moment we got in the car and while we were alone in the restaurant the four of us were like WTF? None of us had ever met the guy, but now that we had... Innocent is 24, Mr. Creepy is a divorced 42 year old. I realize that age is just a number, but when you have so little life experience this is just a bad idea.

Innocent met him at a ballroom dancing class and he's her dancing partner. I'm pretty sure that's why she never saw this weirdy coming. Ballroom dancing requires you to move as one, and the guy does the leading. So not only does she have to allow him entry into her personal space, she had to trust him. I can't fathom any other reason this guy could get past her creep-o-meter other than constant exposure.

Anyway, dessert was where things got interesting. Like I said, I was in a good position to watch him. He liked being surrounded by younger girls. A lot. He tried talking to everyone. Kate was pretty quiet. She tried really hard not to say anything that would hurt Innocent, but she wasn't especially thrilled with Mr. Creepy Sandalman.

Flash would talk to both him and Innocent and she'd was the one holding up most of the conversation, because Mr Creepy McWTF kept leaning over to Haley and whispering to her throughout dessert. Haley was pretty clipped with her replies and not thrilled with the attention. And I definitely understood why.

Not only is he setting off everyone's perv alarm there's little to no music in the restaurant and the two other guys that were sitting in a nearby table had already gone. There was no real reason for Mr Creepy McDanin' Shoes to behave as he did. He hardly talked to Innocent and she was his girlfriend! He sure wasn't leaning in her direction and he didn't even pay for her dessert which he ate half of! For a guy who was just dumped and them taken back, this was beyond rude and ridiculous.

So were his commments about, "I like 24 year olds" Eww, no kidding... and my favorite, "Haley, I love that name" um, quadruple eww! And his attempts to get Haley to sing the Rubber Ducky song? Yeah, I know WTF?

We split from the missmatched duo straight after and couldn't stop talking about Creepy McWeirdyShoes. You know that feeling you get when you walk down a dark alley alone? Well, that's the kind of creepy assed vibe he was sending. We checked out his Facebook, which seemed geared for younger chicks. Haley was distressed when she recognized a picture of her sis at a Christian cafe taken during band night--a night when all the highschoolers come and listen to whatever band happens to be passing through on their way to Vancouver or Seattle.

I am more than a little disturbed that the guy says he's networking from Bellingham, but goes all the way to Stanwood for ballroom dancing and spends his Saturday nights in the company of young highschool girls. Good thing the place is crawlin' with chaperones. But I guess that's half the problem. Other than being tall and angular, he's pretty non-descript. They probably consider him a chaperone, too. And he's intense for someone with such mousy coloring. When he looks at you, you feel a little defiled and more than a little gross--especially if you were Haley...

And then there was his Facebook movie list. I don't know any straight man who would admit, much less list romantic comedies and romantic dramas as the majority of his favorite movies. Must be an appeal to sensitivity or some shit like that. Most of the girls on his list are Innocent's age. Honestly though, with a quote like this as his tag line how could anyone mistake what it is he's after? "There's no religion but sex and music...Sting"

For a would-be Christian singer, that's kind of an oxymoron.

Innocent, sweet Innocent...There's a guy out there for you. So please don't waste your kisses on this creepy assed frog.

When I was a kid, I loved to watch The Labyrinth. I loved fairies and I was a sucker for anything Jim Henson had a hand in--which is most definitely why I lurve Farscape. I used to go over to my friends house all the time and watch it. Drove my parents crazy :]

Now that I've got my own copy, I watch it from time to time, but not as often as I used to. I would say my current comfort movie would be Howl's Moving Castle.

Apparently, no matter what my age, it seems like I just liked to escape dull old reality.

So weird, this thing wouldn't let me post...Anyhoo ------>

Yes, I do believe in love and in love at first sight. Why? My dad joined the navy, sailed all the way around the world and met my mom. Three days later he proposed. They were together until she passed away.

I know, seriously insane and definitely the exception, but still--proof enough to me that love exists. Will I ever find love? I hope so. Though I honestly think that you have to believe that you will find love. You have to have hope.

I know so many people that have settle for something less, all because they'd rather be with the first dope the come across rather than be alone. But there's no substitute for genuine love and its not something you can fake, either.

It kinda makes me want to puke.

Tampons in lying in plain sight...
Yeah, I wouldn't want to see that, either. It's hardly something that needs to be left out, unless the girl is suffering from the never ending period... @_@ Yikes!

Bags of cotton balls...
I'm assuming they have no idea what a girl does with a bag of cotton balls--which is kind of funny, because they can only be purchased by the bag. They don't exactly come by the dozen. xD

Chicks use them for make-up application and removal, first aid, and maybe even art projects for the seriously bored.

Pointy little heels left lying around...
Most guys I know leave a whole bunch of shit lying around, so I'm not sure where this one's coming from. Except maybe steppin' on dirty clothes is less painful than tripping over a pair of stilletos. Yeouch!

Having closets filled with 3 of everything and still complaining about having nothing to wear...
Since my closet is the size of a small footlocker, I don't actually know what this is like. Though it sounds as if this chick needs to do some closet weeding.

Wasting kitchen counterspace with fake flowers, etc...
Yeah, don't know what this one's like either. My sis has a cat and the last thing I need is a hundred dollar bill from the vet for pumping the hairy beast's stomach after ingesting fake plants or other items that may have made it into his mouth. x_x Blech!

Too many deco pillows...
This one's kind of funny. I guess from a guy's stand point too many pillows is pretty frou frou. Though I've got to say, a smart guy knows that pillows can be quite handy on the floor. xD hahahahaah!

Stuffed animals on beds...
Some dude said he felt like a pervert for hooking up with a girl when he had to move her stuffed animal off the bed. Why? Its an inanimate object. How exactly is that any weirder than having a collection of Spawn figurines or those creepy as fuck figurines from Hellraiser? If chicks can put up with that, then dudes can deal with the stuffed critters.

Girly picture frames and photos everywhere...
One guy said, he didn't understand slapping pictures with girly frames every where. Might as well get a photo album.

This one I just didn't understand. In point fact, I'd say this guy wasn't really into the chick he was visiting. I mean seriously! Most places have sterile white walls--courtesy of landlord rules. Hangin' a few pictures up is just about the only thing we're allowed to do when we rent. And unless the pictures are of a bunch of ex-boyfriends, what's the big deal? Isn't it an easy conversation starter? A way to find out where a girl's been, who her friends and family are...it's kind of a no brainer.

Currently watching:
Supernatural - Seasons 1-3
Release date: 2008-09-02

The answer to that is a big fat yes!!!

I waitress as part of my job at a B-n-B and there is nothing more disruptive than hearing someone's cellphone go off constantly in a small dining room. I've seen people answer their phone and leave a room to finish a conversation and that's perfectly fine. What's not fine, is answering an obnoxiously loud cellphone and proceeding to have a very loud one-sided conversation in the dining room. Honestly, no one cares.

I always thought it was counterproductive of people to come all the way to a b-n-b, only to spend all weekend staring at their blackberries/laptops, or whatever. Here's a thought, turn the freaking thing off and spend some time with your significant other.

Oh, and theaters. Nothing pisses me off more than seeing people talking/texting, or whatever during a movie. They could at least set their phone on vibrate or set the display setting to low instead of super bright.

Saturday night...The first saturday night I've had off in ages and it's a bust. Should've gone to that girls night out I was invited too, 'cept that I'd have to be sober and pleasant come morning and I'm not too sure that would have happened. [grumbles] Darn job. [Grumbles some more] I need a life... Like bad.

Have made some head way cleaning my room--man, does that sound bad. I have unearthed my desk and can now see it. It's amazing the amount of crap a person accumulates over a life time. Lots of stuff went to goodwill, some stuff I sold, and some just found their way into the garbage. It's harder letting go of the stuff I found from Japan. Or of my old sketches. I'm quite glad I found them intact. And yet there is still a small mountain of paper and old journals sitting on my desk...it's like the cleaning never ends.

While I was airing out my room, I thought back on how I've dealt with people these last two years. I think I avoid them. Not sure why, but I can find all sorts of reasons not to hang out. Work is an ever popular excuse. Being broke is also an excellent excuse. Especially lately. Both my jobs are seasonal so my excuses are believable. But the stupid thing is, after I decline invitations to hang out with new people I've just met, I bitch about not having anything to do later.

I can't believe how ridiculous I am.

It's 11:30 at night and I just got home from work--my second job at the movie theater. It's freakin' snowing outside! Now I have nothing against it, 'cause yeah, snow's pretty and all, but for crying out loud, why does it always snow when I gotta take my car into the shop? Seriously.

The little yellow light has been bothering me for about three months now. I know, I know. Should have gotten it looked at a loooooong time ago. Thing is, my car is perfect. Runs great, sounds fine, no weird rattling sounds or strange anythings. Apparently with the new cars where lots of stuff is computerized a fumes escaping from a hole the size of a pin in some random tubem, or whatever, will set off the darn light. Instead of forking over $210 for a tune up, which is what I think my car needs. I'm forking over $82 to get them to diagnose whatever code has been setting off the engine light. Well, that and a $40 oil change. At the very least, that'll be taken care of. I'm gonna be pissed if they tell me it just needs a tune up.

Nothing terribly exciting is going on in my life--which means absolutely nothing has changed since before my computer crashed. Well, except for getting a second job--which willcome in handy for pay back Bestbuy and flipping the bill for my car problems. Hooray for that. Though you are right, Bryn. Sure does eat up a lot of my time--and muse juice. Haven't been able to properly re-write the chapter that I lost when my computer crashed and the muse won't let me skip ahead till I fix the mess I made. Such a stubborn thing! Really need to get back into that.

Things are still a bit slow around here and won't really start to hop until March. When April comes around it'll be crazy non stop until Fall. Not really sure what I'll be able to do or where I'll be able to go in the middle of all that mess. I was really hoping to visit the islands just off of Anacortes. Can't believe I've lived here all this time and never been to Port Townsend or Victoria BC. I wanna get a look at it before the Winter Olympics go into full swing. I think maybe I'd like to visit my dad this year, just in case he can't visit me and my sis. Maybe I'll even be able to see San Antonio. Maybe. Best get all my bills paid before hatching any plans.
