It snowed yesterday. More than the day before. Maybe I'm a spoilsport, but I'm not exactly thrilled by snow. Sure it's pretty and I'd like to walk around in it, but when I think of snow, I inevitably think of all the stupid people I'll be driving with...Yay, a legion of total idiots behind the wheel of a car. I can hardly contain my excitement.
Not.
*shakes head* Supposed to snow a few times this week. The only thing worse than snow is ice. Getting to work took twice as long as normal and I'll just admit now that I was totally disregarding the stop signs. What's the point? Nobody but me at the fourway. One tap of my brake and suddenly I'm not so straight anymore. Sure my Jeep's heavier then my CRX, but that doesn't mean I didn't fishtail a bit. I finally sold my my CRX and I kinda miss it. Spinning 360 was kind of fun even if I did look like an idiot.
Speaking of accidents, on my way to work I saw an old guy who'd parked his car in some hedges across from the Calico Cupboard. He looked kind of happy. I suppose I'd be happy too if my car were skidding across the lanes with nothing to slow me down. Yay for hedges. No one cares about them anyway.
The second accident I came across wasn't too far away from the town I work in. I thought I'd be sneaky and use my backroad...Yeah, nobody snowplows the back roads--which proves that I'm a gd idiot. I ended up going 15-25 mph on a normally 50 road. I was so sad. I missed the speed, but then not so much when I saw the dude in the opposite lane gun it and end up in a soon-to-be tulip field.
Nearly the whole drive to work, I had some guy on my tail. I hate tailgaters. They're so irritating.
What's really stupid is the confused look they get on their face after they've slid off the road and into the ditch. They're surprised? Duh! Snow and high speed, never a good combo. *sigh* People are stupid, especially in the snow.
Anyway, enough of my snowdriving rant. I've been asking my coworkers about what to expect when Valentines Day rolls around. They just sort of shake their head and laugh. Maniacally.
It's actually kind of scary. I mean, how bad can it possibly be? My sis just shakes her head at me, too. She's like,
Duh, Rhys.
I'm serious. I wanna know what I'm up against. I mean is it gonna be like the chimney sweep couple? Will it be worse? Will I need to buy me some serious gloves or should I just show up in a hazmat suit?
My sis is scarily rattling things off that are making me cringe. The things she learned from Spencers...Anyway, other than that work is all good. All I gotta say is that if people are gonna freak up a room on V-Day, they better leave us housekeepers a serious tip!!!!
Hrm...I got a two thousand word challenge from my bud ritetab. I'm a thinking I'm not gonna make two thousand right of the bat, but hey. I did write something today
I'm just gonna have to line me up some oneshots. I'm working on it Ritetab!!!
Oh, and I swiped my sis' Launderettes cd. Good stuff! Kind of reminds me of the Donnas. Lovin' it!
She also let me listen to her Kaylee Cole cd. I gotta say, the girl has a wonderful voice. Nice to hear some local talent.
