I need to get my CRX fixed. Damn wasps have decided that my car makes for a nice hidey hole. My fault though. I forgot to clean out my car a year and a half ago and when I was getting ready to take it out for a spin, I discovered a forgotten jack-n-the box bag and some old bottled soda. Not Cool!!! x_x For eight years, I took good care of my car, and in a moment of total stupidity I totally screwed up. Guh! Anyway, I gotta get rid of the wasps and now I have to get rid of this green mossy looking stain behind the passenger seat. I wonder how wasps feel about automatic car washes...
So I had another adventure at a different lumber mill. I helped band sheets of wood together, so this time I was actually working with machinery. The lady I helped was really cool. I guess I got pretty lucky. The banding area was wide open with a lot of cool air. This mill gets pretty hot because after they press sheets of wood together and bake it a little to dry the wood. I guess the wood ends up as building materials that are sent as far away as Austrailia.
The shift was 12 long hours! Actually, that's me whining. It went by pretty quickly, actually. I'd run down long sheets of wood with wax paper and Peg, the lady I was helping, stapled down the sheet and bind everything with metal strips. Finally, some zippy dude in a frellin' huge forklift would carry it away. I was quite proud that I managed not to staple myself, with either the plastic or metal staples. I'm still signed up with Express. I figured it couldn't hurt to get hooked up with at least one ten dollar job a week. It'll help with evicting my unwanted freeloading flyers.
Btw...I got a job! Yay! Hands down, the best interview I've ever had. Seriously! They even offered me coffee ^-^ fresh coffee. I was totally blown away! Its a position as a house keeper at a little bed and breakfast in a tourist town. Today was my first day and compared to my stint as a lumber jack it was a cake walk. Pays good, too! Way better than retail :] The people I work with are really nice and they seem happy that I catch on quick--finally all that bed and bath stuff I learned and all that down comforter fluffing has actually value :D
