Okay, this is going to sound weird, but I need a little help from my LJ buds and whoever else comes across this post...
In about 11 or 12 days, I'll be back in Washington. Yay for home sweet, um, other home. Anyway, when I get back, there's a whole passel of projects awaiting me. Like...
~ The pipes that freeze in the winter time.
~ The shed that blew away more than a year ago and has yet to be replaced.
~ My personal favorite ~ The wood stove that will explode if used...yes, they specifically used the words explode. I thought I'd heard the realtor mention that the stove was to be replaced. Apparently, no one has given the exploding stove a second thought because it's nearly two years later and nothing! I would think exploding stoves are against code. 0_o; Disturbing!
Does anybody know anything about tenant laws in the US that could give me some tips on encouraging my landlady to fix this stuff? My aunt suggested heat tape for the pipes which is cool. I suppose I could get reimbursed for that, but the rest of the stuff--I just don't know.
While she's at it, the land lady could at least consent to running a cable through the house for the tv and the internet connection. Just because the house was built in the late 1800's doesn't mean the old girl can't join the rest of the other houses that function in the year 2007...
